Morgan's Mill

Morgan's Mill is an all-day spot on K Street in downtown Sacramento — espresso and pastry in the morning, beer and wine by late afternoon, and the same room holding both without changing costume.

We designed the interior around a single hero moment: a mixed media art wall built from hundreds of raw milled wood blocks, stacked in relief around a redwood forest print. It anchors the lounge, softens the acoustics, and gives the room its name in three dimensions.

The guest experience was mapped from the sidewalk in — window seats that turn the street into the show, a counter that reads as one continuous bar from coffee through last call, and a graphic program built around the dog-at-the-bar mural that customers photograph before they order.

Deep teal tile, blackened steel, worn leather club chairs and warm milled timber. Familiar enough to work at for four hours, sharp enough to meet someone for a drink.
